Trip to see Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Mike

We had a whirlwind trip to Detroit to visit this weekend. I think we brought the cold weather back with us on Sunday. Thursday evening was dinner at Outback Steakhouse(they have the best cheese fries) and Friday was the Detroit Zoo. It was a little nippy (47 degrees and windy) in the morning, but it warmed up pretty nicely for the afternoon. We rented a wheelchair thinking Dad with his two titanium knees would use it, but for those of you that know my dad you won’t be surprised to hear that he wouldn’t sit in it. It did come in handy for Brandon, he used it most of the day and I don’t think he got as tired as he could have. Now, the adults were beat!!!! Ask Dad about the peacock that almost pecked him, it was really funny! Saturday was spent recovering and shopping and we had a small gathering of family and friends at the house. No mullets to be found except in pictures. It was off to the airport at 11:30am. Brandon and Jeremy did great all weekend, and fell asleep 10 minutes before we landed in Charlotte!!!!

I am married to Wendy and dad to two boys Brandon and Jeremy with Juvenile Batten Disease, a fatal neurodegenerative childhood disorder. I am also active with the Batten Disease Support and Research Association.
