Bradford Park Turkey Trot

What a great event. We got such a warm welcome from everyone there, it was very much appreciated. They had a great turnout and Brandon and Jeremy made fast friends with Cinker the dog! Brandon and Jeremy held the American Flag for the national anthem, started the race, got to ride in a Cabarrus County Sheriff’s car and then also picked raffle winners at the end of the race. They even got to start the Tot Trot as well! Needless to say there were two tired boys in the Hawkins household(make that three) last night. I don’t want to miss anyone saying thank you, but THANK YOU to everyone there for making this such a special day for my boys. This neighborhood event raised over $3000 for the Make a Wish Foundation which goes halfway towards the average cost of a wish!!!!!

I am married to Wendy and dad to two boys Brandon and Jeremy with Juvenile Batten Disease, a fatal neurodegenerative childhood disorder. I am also active with the Batten Disease Support and Research Association.
