Once again our family has been blessed by God in another amazing experience. Saturday we visited Camp New Hope again for their Open House. We got to tour the property, walk along the river, ride to the mountain top and enjoy the company of amazing people!!! It is truly a place where the rest of the world ceases to exist and time stands still. How is it that the rest of our week seems to fly by, seemingly without anything being accomplished, and spending a half a day on that mountain is like being there for 2 weeks? While we were there we planted a tree as a small token of our appreciation to Mark and Will(pictured with the boys) for allowing us to spend time there. We plan on watching that tree grow and providing it some TLC every chance we get!
We got to meet Vicki Randolph in person as well, Vicki did a story for the Asheville Times about Camp New Hope and quoted Wendy several times. Here is a link to that story: http://mountaintimes.com/mtweekly/2008/0424/camphope.php3.
Also bumped into our friend Scott please check out their website http://www.garrettswings.org/index.html. Garrett’s Wings provides comfort and non-medical care for terminally-ill children and their families while supporting and promoting research to cure Infantile NCL. Garrett’s Wings is promoting several very cool fundraisers, check out their events page!
Last but not least, don’t forget about our Spaghetti Supper on Wednesday May 7th at Forest Hill United Methodist in Concord. $5.00 for all you can eat Spaghetti, salad, drink and dessert!!!!! We will have raffle items as well as a visit from Joe Panko and Classic Art Inc who will have some very special Mother’s Day items for sale.
