A big thank you to all that came out to the Dealin’ for a Cure Tournament on Saturday night, we had a lot of fun, had great food and a raised some funds for the Batten Disease Support and Research Association. http://www.bdsra.org. We started out the night with 3 tables of 6 players and the deep stack turned out to generate alot of excitement. As a poker novice(novice is a kind word) I had fun and the guys at my table helped me along the way with strategy as much as they could. I won a couple of hands, but I was no match for some of the card sharks at my table, you know who you are. We had some great giveaways during the night, sleeves of golf balls, baseball hats, even some of Dave’s Homeroast Coffee, http://www.etsy.com/shop/daveshomeroast, which eventual champion Jason Helms swears changed his luck for the better when he won the coffee. Highland Creek was represented by Jason Boys in second and Nick Wilkins rounded out the top three. Congrats to these guys on some fine poker.
Standing ovation for the food by Randy Chittenden and a big thank you to Ben Pai, Joel Padgett and Wes Ports, without these guys the night would not have been possible.
Be on the lookout for additional poker nights and maybe even other events that were inspired Saturday night!
