If ourboys 5k was a pledge a thon…….

I am taking this opportunity to remind you if you haven’t signed up to run or walk this years event this Saturday May 8th at 8am,  you still have time!!!!  Please, if you know someone who may even remotely be interested in the cause, the event, the fun time to be had just pass this on in a quick email or better yet pick up the phone and say “Hey, I have this great event Saturday morning I think you might be interested in let me give you their website. ” We appreciate your support!!!!!  Online registration is at http://www.sportoften.com/events/eventDetails.cfm?pEventId=4902 If you can’t make it and would like to send $20.00 or $25.00 to show your support you can donate online at http://www.bdsra.org.  It’s that easy, just log on to  http://www.bdsra.org and click on the Donate Now button.  Make sure to put In Honor of ourboys 5k at the appropriate location.  Thank you for supporting this important cause, without you it would not be possible to provide things like an equipment exchange, medical referrals,  new family support, representation at medical conferences, BDSRA merchandise, an annual family conference, and funding for the vital research necessary to cure Batten Disease once and for all!!!!! 800 donations of just $50.00 can cover the cost of our annual conference for several hundred families to meet each other, ask questions pertinent to their kids, speak with scientists,  and spend a weekend with a group of people that truly understand what they are going through……. You can’t put a price on that, but we can certainly try.  Once again, this weekends race begins at 8am, with festivities going on before and after the starting gun.    Once again thank you for your time and generous donations, we appreciate it.

So, how’d I do as a pledge a thon host? 🙂

I am married to Wendy and dad to two boys Brandon and Jeremy with Juvenile Batten Disease, a fatal neurodegenerative childhood disorder. I am also active with the Batten Disease Support and Research Association.
