New Schools

Wow, it has been a while since I posted.

Brandon and Jeremy are both enjoying new schools respectively, although the “newness” has worn off and things are a lot less exciting.  We have changed Brandon’s day at the high school to start at 9am instead of 7:15am because the early mornings just didn’t work.  Jeremy enjoys middle school but the schoolwork is getting more difficult for him even though he tries to keep up with the kids his age.  We have noticed Brandon’s speech becoming more and more garbled and Jeremy’s stuttering becomes more pronounced from day to day.  Jeremy really gets tired at school from all the walking between classes, PE, etc.  All that being said, they still enjoy the interactions with adults and kids alike!!!  Thank you to Jennifer Cavanaugh and Sandy Singh for all that they do to make the boys lives at school(and at home for that matter) more enjoyable!

I am married to Wendy and dad to two boys Brandon and Jeremy with Juvenile Batten Disease, a fatal neurodegenerative childhood disorder. I am also active with the Batten Disease Support and Research Association.

I am so glad Brandon and Jeremy are enjoying their new schools, but I sure do miss seeing your boys! Tell them both I said, “Hi!”
