Pre race Information

Pre race packet pickup will be held from 5-8pm on Friday evening May 10 in the bus lot at Harris Road Middle School.  This will also be the Start and Finish line for the race.

 
Walk up registration and packet pickup will begin no later than 7:30am on Saturday morning.  
 
Parking:  Please be advised that a group of Harris Road Middle students will be loading buses for a trip to Carowinds from the opposite side of the school from the bus lot at 7:30am.  Expect a lot of traffic in the main parking lot, so be on the look out for kids and other race participants.  For this reason we encourage you to take advantage of packet pickup Friday evening.  Also consider parking next door at Odell Elementary as an alternative.  
 
Volunteers:  Thank you for spending your Saturday morning with us.  Please check in at the Volunteer table at your assigned time.  If you need documentation signed please make sure you see either Andy Brown or Chris Hawkins before you leave for the day. 
 
Notes from DavidsonTiming:  The timing chips for this race are affixed to the back of the race bib numbers and should be worn on the front of your shirt or shorts.  Do not remove the timing chips or crumple the bib.  The bib is yours to keep, no need to return it after the race. 
 
Both races will begin as close to 8:30am as possible with the same starting horn.  The 10k will be 2 laps of the same 5k course.  In case of severe weather we will make an onsite decision based on the weather information available to us at that time.  
 
Awards ceremony for the 5k will begin at approximately 9:30am with the 10k awards shortly thereafter.  Please stick around for some awesome race bib raffles.  You may want to bring some small bills for things like face painting and a 50/50 raffle.
 
Something new this year will be a special table dedicated to Brandon and Jeremy’s special needs trust.  If you would like to help us offset some upcoming expected expenses including a van large enough for two wheelchairs and wheelchair lift we would appreciate your support.  
 
Remember, your t shirt sizes were guaranteed if you registered before April 28th, if you registered after that date sizes will be on a first come, first served basis.  5k participants will  receive cotton t shirts and 10k participants will receive technical shirts.
